Beautiful and sturdy

I am a transcriptionist so I needed something that would hold up to constant typing and it certainly does. Plus it looks super cute! Thank you, Ducky!

Ducky One 2 RGB Pudding Edition Review

It was a great keyboard that I loved as much as a man could love a keyboard. until I woke up today and it stopped working. The LEDs behind F5 and F7 no longer shown and keystrokes were no longer registered. Unplugging/replugging, restarting the PC, etc, nothing worked. Review typed on previous keyboard. :(

Ducky One 2 RGB Pudding Edition Review

The Cherry mx Red Silent have a great feel to them on this keyboard, coming from a Logitech G513 Carbon, as for the sound, is much quieter and seemed nice. The Pudding style keycaps also look fantastic. Was delivered with the year of the Ox space bar, and a white enter key installed, swapped for the pudding style all around and to my eye looks a lot better. However for the 2 star rating, the keyboard during boot works just fine, and I can get it to work in BIOS and the RGB lights up and the rainbow is glorious. Once it loads windows you just continuously get the USB device disconnecting notification through the speakers. I've tried reinstalling my USB hub controller, new cables, different usb ports, different computers (10900kf Asus Prime z490 A mobo, 11700kf Asus Z690 TUF, Lenovo Legion y540, Dell Elitebook). The cable being a rubberized standard cable is ok, but if it were a bit more premium for a keyboard above the $100 price range would be a nicer touch as well.

Ducky One 2 RGB Pudding Edition Review

Really love the feel and look of this keyboard, got cherry MX Browns and coming from reds its just a much better experience. If that's all you care about you'll love this. However, I really miss the software from my corsair. With corsair's IQ software you have super easy access to macros and remapping keys. You can easily pick and choose each key to remap or change the color, you could have layers of colors and do so much customizing. With the ducky software its not nearly as easy to use, there's no easy way to go around and pick and choose a specific color for each key, as you have to pick the color on the color chart each time you want to switch colors, and good luck going back to the color you had before, there's no way to get the exact color easily except by remembering the right spot. hard to explain but if you download the ducky RGB software you'll see what I mean. Compared to Corsairs iQ software its just not nearly as good. This is the sole reason for lower stars. For feel of the keyboard it's 5 stars.

Ducky One 2 RGB Pudding Edition Review

I originally wanted to get a Ducky Shine 7, but since the restock date got pushed back I decided to go for this one instead. At first I was disappointed that it didn't come with the USB-C cable needed to connect it, but then I lifted the bottom of the box and found it along with some extra yellow keys, the pudding spacebar (mine came out-of-box with the Year of the Ox spacebar), and a keycap remover. So seconding David's review -- check your box! As for the keyboard itself -- I'm not a mechanical keyboard aficionado by any means but I'm very happy with it so far. The keyboard feels nice and sturdy (and heavy), and the keys are smooth when typing. There are a lot of different RGB lighting options which you can cycle through easily with FN F10, some of them are a little obnoxious but look so so pretty. I also love the pudding keys more than I expected, they look good even when not illuminated but even better when they are, especially with the rainbow wave effects. (Also, as someone who used to visit relatives in Taiwan often as a child, I fondly remember going to the closest 7-11/Family Mart/Hi-Life to buy pudding, and now my keyboard will always remind me of that.) A minor downside is that a couple of the letter cutouts on the keys could be. sharper? You can kind of see it in the close-up sample pictures, like on the PgUp key. But that's an extremely minor detail that definitely doesn't impact my enjoyment of the keyboard. The other downside that I will echo from Adam Posavac's review is regarding the indicator lights for num lock, caps lock, etc. When the room is well-lit it's hard to see them from a normal sitting angle, I have to lean forward to check, but it's not really a big deal though. For a more in-depth analysis I recommend you check out some of the other reviews, like Adam Posavac's , Chuck R's, or JoshuaBaker's. Overall though, definitely five stars from me!
