Found on the original Model M mechanical keyboards, buckling spring switches are loud, tactile, and require a high amount of force.

Feels wrong when gaming, but is pretty great for universal use and has basically perfect typing feel. Only beaten by beamsprings.

The tactile and audible feedback make these a great typing experience. Not well-suited for gaming though. The switches are distracting for gaming in my opinion.

The buckling spring keyboards have an amazing feel and sound, especially for typing. The metallic click sounds just as the keystroke is registered, reducing errors. For gaming, it's not got an n-key rollover, but that really doesn't matter, unless you're pressing 4+ keys at once. The model m is one of the best keyboards I've ever owned. So heavy, you could defend your house with it.
