  • Tremendous value for the price.

Sturdy aluminum frame, FR4 plate/PCB, sound dampening pad behind the PCB. The keycaps are cherry profile, lovely double shot PBT with that awesome sandy feel. The keycap color is subtle, but a nice change from something as bland as white on black. it's definitely not the sound profile you'd get from a mid range custom, but it's also several hundred dollars cheaper.

for those curious, the 65% layout is terrific. it takes up so much less space on my desk (and personally i think is more aesthetically pleasing), and the loss of the function keys has had almost zero effect on daily driving.

If you're looking for a 65% in the ~$110-120 budget range, this is it.

  • so personally, this is one of the best keyboards i've ever had before. the sound is absolutely amazing, it just sounds so crisp and beautiful. gaming wise, it really does perform. i love the way this keyboard looks and feels, but i did get new keyboards to help accentuate the look! i haven't modded anything, but the stock is already perfect. i have the silent reds and i wouldn't want any other switches.

  • This is a great keyboard, very solid, good to type on, and I like the colors. I got Cherry MX Red switches, mainly because I already know I like them. Unfortunately, the size didn't work out for me. This is only my 2nd mechanical keyboard, and it's the first one I've used that isn't full-sized. The keys on this are very slightly narrower than the ones on my previous keyboard. My bad, I could've looked into this, but I had no idea that this is a thing that happens or makes a difference.
I do a lot of AutoCAD and SketchUp. In both cases, I'm mousing with my right hand while using the keyboard with my left hand. It turns out that I am used to keys being in certain positions. With this, I found myself often hitting ' instead of Enter, or ; instead of L. It's fine for regular typing, but not for my other uses.
In addition, I found that I really need dedicated PgUp/PgDown keys. Without them, I have to keep looking at the keyboard when paging up or down through a document. I prefer paging to scrolling, and this is distracting. I mean, I could probably get used to it eventually, or use Auto Hotkeys.
Finally, I'm getting more experienced with AutoCAD and it turns out the Function keys are very useful. Again, you can do Fn 3 = F3 or whatever. But there's only one Fn key, on the lower right, and the 3 is on the upper left. In general, using the Function keys means looking at the keyboard for me, and possibly using two hands.
I love this keyboard. But I'm returning it and getting a TKL with full-sized keys. I wish I could get the same colorway with the same switches in a TKL, but that's out of stock. But I'm still getting another Leopold. They're great and I'm glad I tried them. (My earlier keyboard is a Ducky One, I love that too but people have been complaining about build quality on some newer Duckys. Also many of them are out of stock.)
I'm giving this 5 stars anyway, because if you know what you're getting into, it's great.

  • Great keyboard. Great build, great feel, great sound. Amazing stock with MX Reds but literal heaven when lubed. Came in like 3 days too haha. Only complaint was that the space bar was a bit rattly for me but some 205g0 fixed it right up and made it perfect.

  • great keyboard. just oozes quality all around. love the color scheme on this thing

  • This thing is amazing. Had for over a year now and it still looks mint with daily use. The space bar is a tiny bit unstable on the left hand side, but I space with my right thumb, so it doens't really bother me. The MX Silent Reds render the noise of the keyboard unassuming and unobtrusive, which was the goal. As far as build quility goes, this thing is solid as a rock. Highly recommended.

Maybe there's one thing that bothers me. The insert key is a strange one to make dedicated, imho (do people still use the Insert key?). Leopold should replace it with something more useful, like home or end or prtscr. Or better yet: make it programmable in some way.

  • I ordered this keyboard with silent red and it's perfect. Silent, feel is great.
I recommend the keyboard and Mechanical Keyboard service.
    Thank you very much.

  • This is my first mechanical keyboard and it's awesome! I chose MX Blue and the feeling is truly awesome.

But I mostly want to talk about Mechanical Keyboards customer service: I received a first keyboard that had a faulty switch and I was a bit afraid that it would be very complicated to get a remplacement because I used international shipping! But Mechnical Keyboards guys are very professional, they always answered my tickets fast and solved my problem. So if you hesitate to place an order because you are not living in the US, go for it! Mechanical Keyboard staff is really helpful and I thank them a lot. This was the reason why I wanted to order on Mechanical Keyboards, and I'm so happy that I did.

  • This is my first typist's mech, and wow what an experience. I ordered mine with MX Blacks, and it's like nothing I've ever typed on before. Acoustics are amazing, feel is great. I was even able to flip the spacebar around, which I find much more comfortable. Build quality is fantastic, no plate flex and the case is sturdy enough that I feel comfortable putting it in my backpack for transport without a sleeve. For it's size the weight was a little surprising, but I actually appreciate a heavier build in this case, it doesn't add too much to my daily carry. Completely plug-and-play, it worked without a hitch on my very software-strict work computer. The only gripe I have is I'm not a fan of the colour of the mods (I wanted black caps but it was only in stock with MX Blues) or the texture on the keycaps, but I really can't take a point away for this since it can be replaced so easily. All in all, this keyboard is fantastic value, and a perfect entry into the keyboard hobby for me.

  • I spent months obsessively researching 60% mechanical keyboards, looking for a perfect balance of affordability, quality, and an outstanding typing experience. After reading and watching countless reviews I decided on this one, and can honestly say that this was without a doubt the perfect choice.

The body is solid and weighted. The combination of the high quality PBT keycaps with the blue switches and the dampener provide the perfect clicky sound that isn't too loud. The keycaps are on the thin side, but this adds to the easy and pleasant typing experience. The keys also have the perfect amount of texture and are slightly shorter than the usual height which helps with accuracy and comfortability. No fatigue whatsoever which is contrary to other experiences I've had with blue switches.

If you're looking for an amazing typing experience without all the bells and whistles, I can't recommend this keyboard enough.

Finally, a huge thanks to the folks at Mechanical Keyboards for fantastic service. They lived up to their reputation and can expect more of my business in the future.
