I picked this up here with a great discount and opted for MX Brown. I'm a programmer and researcher, so I do a lot of typing. Not a gamer at all, so didn't use for that at all.
Key shape, feel, and response is excellent.
I see a lot of complaints about the key font. While it's not the best, it doesn't bother me -- kind of reminds me of an old keyboard from the early 80's. This is actually my first mechanical KB since the mid-80's and I'm pretty happy that I bought it.
Only real complaints are:
--Key back lighting isn't even, but it's usable and I doubt it could be any better given PTB keys. Front-printed media legends are not lit at all. It would be nice. Minimal bottom bleed, which I like
--FN is not optimal as it makes accessing macro keys inconvenient, though I seldom use these
My
Definitely the best keyboard I've ever owned. I've had mine for almost 2 years with no sign of wear on any of the switches. All LEDs are still bright and react brilliantly. The stock keycaps do dim the lights a bit, so I am now using aftermarket caps from my Ducky Shine 3 which really show off the LED brightness.
Getting new lighting profiles isn't as friendly as most popular keyboards which have proprietary software, so you'll have to do the footwork on your own.
It's fairly heavy so not ideal for tournament play or traveling, but perfect for your battlestation.
Best keyboard I have owned. PBT keycaps are great, illumination is great with great modes. Build is quality.
Deck really makes a top notch board. The overall look is very simple and elegant. The white LEDs are bright enough to see but not too bright to strain the eye. The Cherry MX blues in this board are perfect for typing as long as you do not mind the click.
I've been using this keyboard for 4 months now.
Pros:
- perfect feel and ergonomics
- keys seem a bit more resistant than on a key tester (blue switches), not sure why, but it's definitely a pro
- PBT is made of win; so far not even a slightliest sign of wear; that was not the case with ABS on my corsair vengeance, which started to shine after a month or two
- programming support is just incredible with any 64 sequence (with delays) available as an option on any key
Cons:
- backlight is rather dim, you won't notice it during the day normally
- sometimes the keyboard doesn't wake up with the pc after sleep, difficult to reproduce clearly; not something I see a lot anyway
The weird font is something you get used to very soon and it's not an issue (I was anxious about it).
All in all, after using it, I feel this is the closest thing to my ideal keyboard. I fully recommend this fine piece of engineering.
