  • This is my first mechanical keyboard ever and was somewhat of an impulse buy after googling mechanical keyboards and watching YouTube videos and nosing around r/mk. Bought this because I wanted a full-size but compact keyboard with a numpad included and the keyboard has met my expectations. Haven't really had any issues with the Bluetooth connectivity so far. Many thanks to the reviewers who attached the PDF manual to their reviews, that was helpful. A manual was included with my keyboard but it was all in Chinese so it wasn't exactly helpful. Mine also came with a keycap puller but I also bought a keycap puller from MK just in case based on the previous reviews. I know some people have mentioned that they don't like how the caps don't have the little bars on the F and J keys, but they do have a defined "scooped" feeling which helps me orient my fingers. The 5 key does as well. I like the feeling of the keys, they feel fairly solid. I'm a little annoyed by the noise the spacebar makes but I think that's because it's bottoming out and hitting the case, so I'll probably try putting down some foam underneath. In any case, I'm waiting on replacement keycaps from KBDFans.

It's admittedly a little pricey but I wanted something wireless, compact, and with a full numpad so I was looking between this, the Keychron K4, the Iqunix F96, and this. The Vortex seemed to be my best bet.

User manuals and firmware update can be found at their website below (their website looks like it came out of the 90s):

  • Been using this for a couple of weeks now with Cherry MX Browns and use it only for typing/coding. The keyboard itself feels really sturdy, is wired via a USB-C cord, and includes wireless BlueTooth. There is an on/off switch on the back and it takes two AAA batteries. There is no manual, however, and I had to look online for instructions -- let me tell you, it's not intuitive, and no one would know how to turn that on without a manual, so I don't understand why there isn't one included, especially at this price point. It's possible that because I bought this used that it was excluded, but I've read other posts on Reddit that corroborated no manual. (I'll include the manual for those who need it below.) I don't think it comes with a key puller, although mine did (again, used), and I had bought an extra thinking one wouldn't be included. Something to keep in mind. As far as design goes, I chose this keyboard specifically for its full yet compact design -- I hate having to move all over the keyboard to get where I need to go, and am often using most keys that others may not have use for. The case is at a slight slant and the keyboard meets the height of my wrist-rest exactly, making typing really comfortable. So far, my only real issue is the Cherry MX Brown switch on the spacebar, which I will be replacing with something that requires more force -- every time I press the spacebar, I don't know if I'm going to get one space or two, which can be really irritating. Aside from that, this keyboard combined Cherry MX Brown switches is extremely comfortable, ergonomic, and wonderful to type on.

  • Great keyboard. It's plastic, but not flimsy at all. It feels very solid. There's no instruction manual in the box, and Bluetooth doesn't work by simply inserting the batteries and flipping the switch. You need to press certain keys to activate BT, depending on what signal your device is using.

    The manual is at:

  • I recently received this keyboard and I am more than happy with it. I got mx blue switches and I really enjoy the clickyness of the keys. Overall the keys feel very stable as well which is nice. The stabilizers are relatively nice and they are not not very rattly. They are not the best quality but I don't have many complaints about them. The layout of the keyboard is nice as well. I love the full size keyboard in a much smaller form factor. The keycaps are DSA (at least I believe) profile and I really enjoy typing on them. They are also of high quality and have a slight texture them, which is nice to have. The slight incline of the keyboard is also comfortable for long typing or gaming sessions. The only real complaint I have with the board, which holds it back from being 5 stars is that there are a few keys that are the slightest bit misaligned. It is very hard to notice unless you are looking close. This is a great package offered by vortex and the USB-C and bluetooth are excellent to have as well. I recommend this!

  • I bought the cherry MX clears Tab 90 and it is great if you like the layout. Keycaps are high quality and board feels solid.
The stabilizers on this keyboard are really well lubed and put together and there is minimal wobble (close to none) and doesn't sound any louder than the normal keys.
For my unit, there seems to be quite significant pinging if I bottom out. (which contributed to it not being 5 star)
The keyboard is amazing but it is also a bit on the expensive side. If it was slightly lower price some of its minor flaws could be ignored and it could have been 5 star. For such a high price it doesn't even include a keycap puller even though it does provide some free accent keycaps.

  • This keyboard is a great joy to use if you prefer a compact layout. I got the tab 90 with mx clears and everything works fine including bluetooth.

Some downsides - The keycaps are slightly misaligned, although they are of decently high quality. There is also a very slight pinging with some of the switches, but it doesn't bother me personally even when I do not have headphones on. It is also sad they did not include any keycap puller, but that's vortex for you.

Overall I am still really satisfied with this keyboard and hence the rating still stays at 5 stars.

  • Bought the Tab 90, because the Tab 90M in MX Brown was sold out. Really wanted the aluminum case, but very happy with this keyboard still. The quality is great. Some of the keys didn't seem perfectly aligned, but it's not something you'd notice unless you were staring hard at the keyboard. Haven't tried it on this one, but bluetooth seems to work just fine on my Tab 60 and I'm sure it'll be no different for this model. Now that I've had it for a little while, I have to admit I like the lighter keycap color scheme on this board.
My main issues with the Tab 90 so far is more with the compact design. It's been a couple weeks, but I still have to look down at the keys to get oriented. The deep dish homing keys and cluttered design make it hard to know exactly where I am sometimes. I'm hoping it gets better with continued use.
