  • I am a super fast typer (180 wpm). This is my 3rd keyboard from MK. This feels the best of the 3!

I went from WFH work rig with keyboards already provided to me (probably cheap rubber domes), which I liked. Then to WFH laptops. Then to my own WFH desktop, but I had to find my own keyboard

I tried 2 traditional mechanical keyboards (blue and silver switches), but they did not feel comfortable or natural- Actuation point was too low; travel was too deep; force curve was too strong (harder to depress as you go deeper); keys rattled. I typed much slower on the blue switches. The silver switches were better, but it didn't feel great. Travel still felt too deep, the key caps were flat, the keys rattled, etc

So I went back to rubber domes. Exasperated at this point, I went for Topres. The travel is probably deeper than the silvers, but I don't notice it (feels shorter), since the actuation point is much higher/at the top (just how rubber domes work). After you actuate, you don't feel any resistance as you press down; there is no increased force curve past actuation, which I love. The key caps are not too big, they are curved for fingers- they're great

Overall, the Realforce Topre 45g makes it easier to get into a typing rhythm- much easier than on the blue and silver mechanical switches I tried (and I gave them both about a month). I'll spend the next month deciding if I will keep this board or switch to a 35g. If I send it back, it won't be because there's any complaints with quality- it will just be for a 35g Topre

  • I'm super happy with this purchase, I've never tried Topres before and have been waiting to for quite a while. This is definitely an expensive keyboard, no two ways about it. But after 10 years of using exclusively MX Blues, I find it a total joy to type on. I love the way it sounds, and even how responsive it is for gaming compared to MX Blues. It looks great, too. I love the retro color theme! Super happy with this :)
