Just received my Tab 90M (black switches). Great product thus far! I was worried that my fingers would migrate easily with how compact this keyboard is but after a day of typing, I am having little to no issues with that. That said, some pictures look grey and some look a grayish green. It is definitely on the greenish grey side. I thought I would not like that but actually it has grown on me.

Truly the best layout possible. Thought really went into the scenario of, "These customers want a compact 10-key, so what should we give them?" There are several other compact 10-keys, but they make stupid sacrifices like 1u '0' keys, which, if you're dedicated enough to really want a 10-key, you know is unacceptable.

Unfortunately, the layout and the aluminum frame are the only good things about this keyboard. The flat keycaps (no ergonomic angles like standard Cherry keycaps) are fine for typing, in my opinion, but these make you significantly reach over and bump the edges of keys below the key you're reaching for. A matter of taste, and easily enough fixed, but still annoying. I'll also echo the other complaints about the legends being inconsistent in quality. The '6' is indeed higher than the other numbers, and my Caps Lock key looks like it spent a few hours on a dashboard in direct sunlight--it's laughably bad.

What is not easily fixed, though, is that the switches are soldered in all different angles and spacing, making the legends look like the title sequence of a wacky children's show. This also breaks up what should be the super clean lines of this keyboard. Essentially, the holes the switches are soldered into are too large, and it allows the switches to be slightly rotated or shifted. For example, my 'X' and 'C' keys are rather close together and have larger gaps on the 'Z' and 'V' side respectively. My 'J', 'K', 'O', 'B', and '.' keys are all 2-3 degrees off straight, with lesser rotations on many other keys.

It's hard to say how 'bad' these issues make the keyboard, but when my 8 year old and $80 Cooler Master CM Storm has objectively better attention detail, I have to wonder what Vortex thinks they're charging $160 for.

It's surprisingly heavy. I would give it 6 stars if they had an option for greens. Come on, you know you will have people pre-ordering the greens too!

the board itself is alright. though personally i did not like the layout. having separate clusters for arrow keys and home/end buttons just makes them easier to reach. and the flat XDA profile is just not as comfortable to type on for me as an ansi or cherry profile

The biggest problem I have with this board however is with the pbt keycaps that ship with the board. While the feel of the caps is great, They have what I could best describe as rough edges near the bottom where the caps came out of the mold. Also the stem of the right shift that came with my board was too wide causing the key to wobble and "get stuck" when you type on it.

As someone who needs the numpad, home/end and pgup/pgdown keys for work, the 90m is near perfect. Typical full keyboards are just too wide making me feel like I'm falling off the side for my desk setup (think full keyboards on laptops forcing you to type off centered). Everything on the keyboard feels solid with a nice heft.

My biggest single complaint is the placement of the home/end and pgup/pgdown keys. Not sure why the home and end had to be separated by the pgup and pgdown keys. I'll have to look into remapping the keys if possible.

I wanted to like this keyboard more but at this price point the issues are unacceptable. The board is solid and heavy in a good way, and I like the compact layout. Typing felt good on the Cherry MX Clears. I also appreciate that the key that usually has a Windows or Mac logo says 'SYS' instead, since I use neither Windows or Mac
Mine came with a bad space bar switch, resulting in occasional double spaces, but let's say hey that happens sometimes and I would be okay with returning for replacement. But the other issues add up:
The stabilizers on the modifier keys are not great, especially on the left side the shift and caps lock keys are a little wobbly, and the space bar is a little sloppy too.
The printing on some of the keycaps are not great either, like on "BACKSPACE" the 'B', 'C', and 'E' are janky and the "SPACE" sits slightly above the "BACK". Also the '6' is printed a little above the other numbers, and the thickness of the lettering is inconsistent in general. My spacebar also came weirdly discolored, with a slight lighter grey stain in the middle. Perhaps related to the switch issue, having received some kind of abuse?
Also with the key caps, many of them have an unfinished edge where they look like they were broken from a mold but not sanded smooth, like an amateur DIY job.
Disappointed because I liked the look of this board and the compact 1800-ish layout, but at this price I can't look past these quality issues.
BTW the layout of this keyboard made me realize just how much I use the DEL key and I was noticing the longer reach for it. I might have gotten used to that if I wasn't returning it. I have a Leopold full-size that I now realize is a much better build, will probably consider one of their more compact layouts.

Searched for a couple months to find a board that I would be satisfied having as my endgame keyboard for a new pc build i was putting together. I knew i wanted something that was constructed from metal, low profile, and had uniform keys. I've spent the last 10 years typing on flat apple keyboards so this was a perfect transition from that to this keyboard. It feels extremely similar. I actually have a harder time typing on keyboards with sculpted keys. I know where keys are from muscle memory not by feel so the sculpted shapes of other keyboard profiles have a tendency to really mess me up when I'm typing at high speed. I wanted something that looked professional that i could also customize but would essentially last for ever. I don't care about back lighting so that did not matter to me at all I almost never look at the keyboard when I'm typing anyway so I don't really know how that would be helpful for me other than just design visuals. It fit what i needed perfectly, its solid, has serious weight and feels more like typing on a typewriter than a keyboard. Customized it right away with white and black keys to make it look like the ducky tuxedo. I'll admit some of the keys may not be perfectly printed based on other peoples standards (described in other reviews) but its nothing serious esp if you're just going to change the keycap set anyway.I will say my only single complaint is that i think some of the switches are not placed into the board as evenly as they could be. My white keycap set emphasizes the spacing between keys and the switches are not quite as perfectly placed as i'd like but. Very happy with this purchase. The only sad part of buying this kb is that i can stop browsing the mechanical keyboard reddit now.

Great board to type on, but there are a few things that are holding it back from being perfect for me.

The caps lock light is really hard to see with the caps that come with the board. The programming LEDs are bright and super easy to tell that they're on, but the one for the caps is super dim and doesn't reflect well off the back plate. Also the other lock keys don't come with LEDs, but I personally rarely use the number or scroll lock, so it's not a huge deal for me, but it still would have been nice to have even the bare minimum like they did with the caps lock. Outside the LED issues, the extra keys you get don't for perfectly, so they end up sitting just a tad higher than all the other keys, which sucks since the whole point of this cap profile is that everything sits at the same level. Some of the legends are inconsistently printed. For example my left shift and right shift keys don't look identical - the left shift has a much thinner font than the right, but that issue doesn't bother me as much as the LED woes since I plan to change caps at some point. The board has no feet, so if you're used to typing on a more angled board, this might be an issue. The Tab90m does have an incline but it's very subtle. To me that's not a problem because I prefer my keyboards flat-ish, but I can see how it can be an issue for others.

Besides these downsides, I love the board. This was my first time using clears and they are for sure my new favorite switch over blues. The hefty weight makes bottoming out much quieter and I never find myself pushing the board around when I'm typing for a long time. Overall, I think this is a great premium board if you don't care about the back light.

I really adore this keyboard. I got it with the cherry blues. The best thing about it is the absolutely tiny form factor while not sacrificing any keys. It's my new go to and I'll be keeping this one for a very long time. Expensive? Yes but it's got pretty much everything you need except LED lights.

Love this keyboard. The compact layout is great, and the construction feels super solid. Definitely worth the price, a real joy to type on with black switches.

As mentioned below the modifiers are actually a dark grey instead of the blue/black tint in the photos here.

Keys of the keyboard feel great and this beast feels incredibly nice to type on; Im using the MX Clears and there is no rattling and the keystrokes while quiet, sound great. The keycaps are proprietary "MSA" profile, and honestly feel pretty good to type on. I would highly recommend this board to any working professional and while on the higher price point spectrum it will probably last me years to come.

I like the layout of this board but the overall quality leaves a lot to be desired at this price. The printing on the backspace key is very poorly done and some keys sit lower than the rest. I expected better quality for the price.

Great board. However, I want to point out the modifiers are not black like the picture suggests and the overview states. They are dark gray and the alphas are gray. They got the frame color right.

Just received my Tab 90M and while it's only been a day, I have to say I'm very happy with the layout and it feels very solid.
I am getting used to the flat profile and the smaller r-shift. The silent reds are working really well and I start work very early in the morning at home so I already feel more comfortable typing away (was using gateron reds before).

Overall pretty good keyboard - especially if you really want a full sized compact layout.
On the higher end of the price point spectrum.
