  • This is my first 'grown-up' mechanical keyboard and I love it. The Silent Red Cherry switches were crucial for the location of my home office. Would definitely recommend other Leopold boards based on this model. I did purchase a braided aviator cable kit for the keyboard, which I recommend as it does use mini-USB.

  • I bought this keyboard with the Cherry MX Brown switches. I've been using it for a few weeks now and here are my thoughts:

    - Build quality is good. The keyboard is very solid. You can feel it when you first pick it up.
    - Key caps are nice. I replaced most keys with a different set, but I still have the originals on the number pad. The originals are stylish and feel good.
    - It works with my Mac laptop provided for work. I had to place my keycaps in slightly different spots to get the Command key in the right spot. I think I can fiddle around with the switches, but I haven't spent that much time yet on it.

    - Even with the Brown switches, the keys are loud. When you strike the keys with any sort of force, there's a metallic "ting" that reverberates for a fraction of a second. I've received a few complaints on video calls that my typing is too loud. With hindsight, I should have went with the Silent Reds.
    - The keyboard has a mini-USB connection. Since I have custom keyboard cables with USB-C connection, I need to find a "female mini USB to male USB-C" adapter, which does not appear to be easy. Had I known about the mini-USB connection, I may have purchased another keyboard.

  • I just bought this keyboard as it is one of the few models that has cherry mx silent reds. I have a corsair k63 with cherry mx reds which I wanted to replace because even after adding o-rings to the corsair it has an annoying high pitched sound when typing too quickly, regardless if bottoming out or not. I realized it was due to the low quality keys on the corsair and was looking for something a little higher quality. I opted to try a leopold due to its reputation. For the same price as this keyboard you can get a similar one with more "features", e.g. USB pass-through, backlit, etc. but I was willing to pay more for less features but higher quality.

I am very satisfied with this keyboard. Leopold stands up to its reputation and I love this keyboard. It's very pleasant to type on and has a high quality feel to it. While it's not absolutely silent, the higher build quality and the silent reds makes the sound a lot more lower pitched and very tolerable for those sitting around you. Typing produces more of a low "thudding" sound, rather than a high "ticking" sound. This sound reduction while still maintaining the comfort of a mechanical keyboard is exactly what I was looking for. I'm very happy with this and definitely consider it an upgrade over my k63. I recommend for those looking for a quality, quieter keyboard and you're willing to give up on the frills to get it.
