  • Just got this in, it's amazing with Cherry MX Silent Red's. Definitely get what you pay for. Look into getting a wrist rest if that's your thing.

  • Received this keeb yesterday. it is an AWESOME keyboard aesthetically, and in the context of the 'calculator' design. There ARE white LEDs backlighting the keyboard, which is not readily apparent on the description of the keyboard. Fn (1/2/3/4/5) changes the pattern and types of those LEDs.

Very happy with the Silent Reds (personal preference) and service from Mechanical Keyboards. 10/10

  • Received this last week, purchased with MX clears. It is the first mechanical keyboard I've ever owned. I've used them at work before and always liked the tactility of the keypress. This is a work keyboard, and I don't type constantly but do my fair share between replying to emails and making notes in drawings.

My first reaction to this keyboard was that it was heavy. I never realized how much I baby other keyboards until I had this one. It's got to be about 3 or 4 lbs. That combined with the soft rubber feet, this thing is not going anywhere once you set it down. It requires a good amount of force to be able to push around. Weight also makes things just feel much more robust.

The calculator LED screen has 3 modes; calculator (NUM LOCK off), function mode (NUM LOCK off), and keyboards and number mode (NUM LOCK on). Varmilo came up with the names, not sure why, but it's not like I will ever use those names anywhere but in this review. The calculator thing is gimmicky, and I know that, but it's already made itself useful. I have the computer's calculator as a hot key because I use it so much, but this has so far made that function a thing of the past. The function mode really just means it is showing you what you are typing, literally everything. Not good for an office environment where you don't want to broadcast your password. Finally the keyboard and number mode, which is where you can actually use the keys for data entry shows off your current keystrokes per minute and the previous 2 minutes. It's just a counter that resets every minute. The LED screen changes when you switch modes as well, so if you have an answer on display in calculator mode, you can't enter it with the ten key. Not a big issue, but I am definitely a fan of the ten key for data entry.

Aesthetically, this is beautiful. They send you 2 choices for the space bar (plain grey and white with print). I've been using the plain grey just because I feel like the white makes it stand out a little too much in the office. Although, I will probably switch to the white after I've grown accustomed to the look of this one. The font of the lettering is very interesting, but doesn't scream at you. So you really don't notice unless you are looking at it. I am also not a fan of the empty space left behind in the 104 keyboard designs, but the LED screen on this fills that space nicely.

There are LEDs on this keyboard, 2 of them. Although you'd be hard pressed to notice them on my keyboard when they are both on. The CAPS LOCK and NUM LOCK both have an LED. The NUM LOCK LED changes colors (red and blue), which the CAPS LOCK is only on or off (white). The CAPS LOCK is almost completely unnoticeable when on. The key itself doesn't contain any window to pass light through and because of the size of the key, most of the light is just trapped underneath. I can barely see a little light on the bottom left of the "Q" if I look for it. The NUM LOCK key is the same, no window for light pass through. However, the key is much smaller, so you get a bit of a nice colorful back light effect that is slightly more visible. It doesn't matter much though because the LED above the key is a much more visible indicator then the faint back light.

Overall the pros outweigh the cons on this keyboard. I bought it for looks and the cool factor and it hits those check marks very well. I'll leave it one star shy of perfect just because of the CAPS and NUM LOCK backlights that are barely noticeable. I will probably drill some holes in them and stick some light conductive plastic in there to fix the issue.

For anyone curious, the MX clears don't feel exhausting to me. As I said at the beginning, I don't type too much throughout the day. Instead, I spend a lot of time in CAD. This review is the most I've typed on this keyboard in one sitting so far and I have enjoyed every click. They aren't too loud either. Our office area is semi-open, so noise from each other's conversation is commonplace along with whatever someone happens to be building on their desk. I may still order some o-rings just to see what the difference is like.

  • Just got this the other day. This is the first boutique keyboard I've bought. Between how much typing I do at work and gaming at home, this has changed my life. Got myself some MX clears.

Theme is sick and includes an LED on the top of the numpad that WORKS and shows the keys you've pressed, an unexpected surprise but a welcome one.

Never looking back. God-tier board. Insane quality.

Do yourself a favor and get one.
