About

Description
  • Hall Effect switch - Uses magnets instead of physical contacts to process actuations
  • Adjustable actuation point from 0.5mm to 3.8mm
  • 50g starting force
  • 70g bottom out force
  • 0.1mm - 4.0mm total travel
  • 0.2mm - 3.8mm actuation range
  • 0.1mm sensitivity
  • POM stem
  • Extended tube structure design
  • Dual rail design on stem offers better stability
  • *Requires custom PCB with magnetic Hall effect sensors*
This switch uses magnets and sensors instead of physical contacts to process actuations, creating a much smoother keypress without bounce or chatter. The adjustable actuation point is determined not by location but by distance traveled.

It requires special PCBs and is not compatible with regular mechanical keyboards. Due to manufacturing differences, this switch may not be compatible with all magnetic or Hall Effect keyboards.

Not Compatible with Epomaker HE68 – Be Aware Before Purchasing

I purchased the Gateron Dual-Rail Aurora Magnetic Switches intending to upgrade my Epomaker HE68 keyboard. Unfortunately, these switches are not compatible with the HE68.

The HE68 comes equipped with Epomaker's Magnetic Pink switches and supports limited switch options. According to Epomaker's official specifications, the HE68 is designed for its proprietary magnetic switches, and there is no mention of compatibility with Gateron's Dual-Rail Magnetic switches.

Furthermore, Gateron specifies that their Dual-Rail Magnetic switches are only compatible with Keychron's Q HE and K HE series keyboards. These switches require specialized PCBs that support Hall Effect technology, which the HE68 does not possess.

It's disappointing that this compatibility issue isn't more prominently advertised. I hope this review helps others avoid the same mistake.

I hope anyone who reads this can imagine my irritation over the fact that we're making proprietary switches now.

I love these switches; they sound great and feel right (I've been using the Drop Halo True's for a while now and have been wanting a heavier magnetic switch for a while), but they just don't work on any keyboard other than ones from Keychron, Gateron, or Lemokey. which, by the way, you CANNOT buy a barebones version for ANY of their HE Models. Honestly, at this point, they're just stacking the disappointment.

Edit: Did a little bit of an investigation and found out that the reason they don't work is because the polarity of the magnet is inverted compared to the Epomaker Magnetic Pink Switrches that come pre-installed on the 68HE
