Ducky One 3 Classic Review

I've had this keyboard for a year and a half and it hasn't stopped double-typing on like half the keys but like to the point where I can press 'r' once and get 'rrrrrrr'. It's awful for just typing regular documents and stuff. It's prolly out of warranty now anyway so whatever. Pretty bad first experience with ducky especially since my last keyboard lasted about 10 years without a single key failing.

Ducky One 3 Classic Review

Ducky made a keyboard so good that I couldn't stop raving about it. And then they made this one, the One 3. On the surface it's very similar to the stellar One 2, but the keyboard has a sysstemic problem with keys repeating themselves. See this review? There's a double space and a double 'S', neither of which were done by me. This keyboard has a brain of its own. So if you like keyboards that have this problem, by all means buy one. Otherwise stay away. It makes for good scrap metal.

Ducky One 3 Classic Review

I bought this one after looking through everything from fully custom to Logitech g815. I'm just looking for a quality quiet keyboard which lead me to Keychron, Drop, and Ducky for hotswaps and prebuilt. I settled on this over Keychron mostly due to overall style and keycaps. Drop is nice but I was looking at spending a total of $100 more after initial cost and dampening kits. It's been a good keyboard and I'm buying some silent tactiles to try out. Definitely recommend it. Sure it's plastic but it's solid and gives you legs for angle adjustment. All in all I'd buy it again

Ducky One 3 Classic Review

My review hasn't popped up here yet, so I'm leaving another-- Overall, the keyboard has been great out of the box. I purchased it with Cherry MX Silent Red switches, and it's a marked difference (and improvement) moving from Razer Green switches. The only thing that feels a little off is the 'thockiness' of the space bar (which doesn't really get absorbed sound-wise), but I'm going to pick up some o-rings to see if that takes care of the issue. On the other hand, I'm incredibly disappointed with MK's shipping process. I knew that the shipping date from my original order would likely get delayed, which wasn't a problem at all, but the packaging was atrocious. This arrived in a box with a ~6' sheet of craft paper bunched up toward one side of the box, with no padding of any kind between the keyboard box/shipping box, or on the left/right side of the board. I've worked in packaging at warehouses before,. Fortunately, the board doesn't seem damaged at all, but for spending ~$180, I definitely expect some kind of care/attention when it comes to shipping after waiting a month for the board to arrive. 4/5 for the board -> 3/5 for handling -- if o-rings reduce the thock from the spacebar, I'll update this to 4/5.

Ducky One 3 Classic Review

I was experiencing pretty terrible chatters / duplication of key inputs / no register of key inputs. I was told to update firmware -- didn't help. Began looking for a new keyboard as the issues were too much of an annoyance, but decided to attempt downgrading my firmware and reupdating it. For some reason, my chattering issues ceased occurring on all but one key. I have no idea why this worked for me, as the firmware update previously indicated it was successful. Perhaps a fault in the firmware updater? I suggest anyone reading this to try downgrading the firmware (I downgraded to v1.07 from jan 11th 2022) and update the firmware back to current (v1.11 from oct 5th 2022 for me). If you're struggling to get the firmware to enable 'start' button, I had to disable the keyboard via devices in the operating system, then unplug the keyboard, replug in, and THEN hit 'start' once it un-greys. Too difficult IMO.
