Ducky One 3 Mini Yellow Review

Macro recording does not require extra software which can be a benefit if the implementation of the built-in function worked well. As it is I think I'd prefer software for this one. 1. Macros on the Ducky play out at the speed you type them in which is strange. I've not seen this on any other keyboard. It'd be better for the keyboard to output at a consistent fast rate. It's often better/faster to just type yourself instead of using a macro. 2. After switching layers and trying to get back to Layer 1 the keyboard beeps instead of switching. I wonder if there's something at the end of macro recording I missed. After the error beep then I can switch back to Layer 1. 3. Fn key needs to be first in any key combo; not a huge deal once you remember it just a strange quirk I've not seen from any other manufacturer. The manual (english version) needs a better translation. The feel of the Cherry MX Blues are really nice though.

Ducky One 3 Mini Yellow Review

Nothing but good things to say about this board. Bought it somewhat impulsively and wasn't sure whether or not I would actually enjoy the yellow colorway - I DO. No other brand could pull this off. Yellow feels SO Ducky and this board is iconic because of the color alone. The build is solid and the sounds are yes. I'm now several weeks into use and I haven't had any problems. Five stars. Great job, Ducky! I will be purchasing a pack of black shine through caps, purely out of preference. Also because - I mean - black and yellow - you know what it is.

Ducky One 3 Mini Yellow Review

This was my first Ducky board. Form years I heard nothing but praise, but when I opened this board, though very nicely packed, I was extremely displeased with the out of box experience. And being that it's Ducky, they void your warranty as soon as you open it, so what's the point? The board exhibited extreme ping (Gateron Blacks), while feeling 'dull' to the touch. I compared this to an RK61, and though not quite as well built, offers an almost on par experience as does the Ducky. What make Ducky think that their plastic boards are worth more than others and deliver basically the same experience, except most other board companies know you are going to modify and improve the board to achieve that boards potential peak. I bought this as an Xmas present for myself and now find myself returning it. Ducky's first impression on me is not good at all. MK Note: To clarify, warranties are voided by opening the actual case for modification, not by opening the box or packaging.

Ducky One 3 Mini Yellow Review

I really have been anticipating this keyboard for as long as I can remember and I really wish that I didn't have to make this review but sadly I want to warn those wanting to get this specific model. It hasn't been a week that I have had this keyboard and on the 3rd day of having it, this issue occurred of some of my keys not working. First it was my W, now it's the D and A key giving me issues where it just stops registering itself and I have to repress them to regain its function. So when playing fast paced games like halo infinite or moving with the team in valorant, my character would stop moving forward at random periods and it would throw my whole momentum off. I did in fact download the firmware update from Ducky's support page as I thought it may have been a firmware issue. I'm on the latest update of this keyboard and I still am having the same issue. What I will be doing now is returning it and debating if I will be getting the daybreak edition instead. I have even went to Reddit to post my concern, and come to find out I'm not the only person with this same keyboard having this issue. I will update with further details on what I'll be doing next, or when I receive my daybreak. Beyond disappointed that I had to go through this. I wish this wasn't the case. But I will have my hopes up for the daybreak model as I may get that one. Just have to decide if I'm willing to risk getting a new keyboard and not have the same issue repeat itself

Ducky One 3 Mini Yellow Review

The keyboard sound is much better than the One 2 Mini (especially the Mecha) due to the silicone and foam. All the insides of this keyboard also fit inside the Ducky One 2 Mini and Mecha Mini cases.so you can swap the internals between the two, if you really want to for some reason, although it is quite a tight fit. It could use better foam, and the stabilizer in the spacebar in mine sticks, so I'll need to take the stabilizers out and re-lube them. Otherwise, there's no rattle from the stabilizers in mine, and the rest of them seem to be lubed at least semi-decently from the factory. Overall, not bad, and a step in the right direction for Ducky, and very nice for a pre-built. Although, yikes, the colorways on these are a bit much for me.
