I don't post reviews often, especially for keyboards since it's very subjective. But this new version HHKB is just amazing. I have a HHKB Pro 2 (which stopped manufacturing in 2020), and this new version is way better. Switches: new version is lubed out-of-box, hence the type less 'stiff', and feels very soft & enjoyable to type on. Body: new version has USB-C port instead of USB-A, a more solid case, better rubber feet, a tiny Cap light, a little heavier weight and better space bar. Personally I really appreciate this upgrade.

Fantastic typing experience and build quality. The tactile feel is subtle with a unique, muted sound. PBT keycaps are lightly textured with crisp legends. Heavier than expected and doesn't slide around. Overall I'm very pleased. Worthy of the hype.

There's nothing like writing a review on the brand-new keyboard you love. This is it. This might truly be it. Oh, I always say that--the Atom66, the Ducky, the Quiet Linear from Matias--but this is definitely the best feeling. I bought a Leopold FC660C two years ago and it was my first real Topre. I tried Niz and I liked those too, but it isn't true Topre. But something about the Leopold bothered me.the layout, the weird blank space, the fact that it is NOT 45g.and something ineffable. I think now I know: I just don't like metal. It pings, it's hollow, it just doesn't feel good to me. The HHKB is expensive and plastic, but it doesn't feel cheap at all. It was designed to be mobile. so it's very light. I had some trepidation at first: I thought it would feel cheap, that it wouldn't stay put on my desk. But this is not so. It has incredibly good feet and rubber matting. Man, it just looks good. It feels ASTOUNDINGLY better that the Leopold. The dipswitches are perfect and the delete key is really where the HHKB layout trumps the others. Also, no one uses cap locks, except for children. And it truly does feel like 45g. Even typing on this sucker now, I know that I made a good purchase. I notice that sellers on eBay are selling these used for $250, sometimes more. Plus shipping. Insane. I got a brand-new HHKB sent to my house in three days for $220 (actually less, because I had a 5% coupon from the last time I bought a board from MK) and there was no shipping fee. Whoever is thinking about spending their stimulus on an expensive board that could be your endgame, look no further. I am typing on God's keyboard. He wants it back.

This is probably one of the best keyboards I've ever typed on. At first I was a little worried because the layout is different from a traditional 60% board, but after typing with it and playing around with a few things, I find it really comfortable to use, and the feel of the Topre switches are really nice. I had to look up how to make the 'delete' key change into backspace, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to delete any of my mistakes which I still make quite a bit on this keyboard despite being so used to typing on it already. I highly recommend this keyboard to anyone who needs something simply for typing or if you're a coder of sorts. I haven't tried gaming with it yet, and don't really have any plans to, I'm honestly just looking for excuses to type on it.
