Keychron Q3 HE TKL Aluminum Hotswap Wireless Keyboard

This keyboard has an amazing sound and feel, but beware if you like light switches. Despite the Gateron Nebula being rated at 40g starting/60g bottom-out, it's quite a bit heavier. Think of it as having at least the weight of a Gateron G Pro Yellow or Black. Also, the spacebar on the board I got was noisier than I wanted, with an annoying tick. Some Krytox 206 made the spacebar sound good, and I was able to secure some Gateron Dawn switches, which despite being rated 30g/50g, feel a whole lot more like, say, 45g Reds. While weighting of other switches seems to impact the sound significantly, the sound of the Gateron Dual Rail HE switches seems to be very, very consistent, with a pleasing sound I'd desribe as a stick of chalk tapping on a chalkboard. Despite not being silenced keys, the bottom-out of all the switch weights feels somehow soft and pleasant - if Niz made MX boards, they'd feel like this. Finally, for Keychron KSA fans, these keycaps are nicer than what they've been shipping with their Q-series boards. These keycaps fit the switches snugly and securely, where the standard Keychron keycaps are sometimes so loose that they'll fly off the board if you type fast. (Seriously - I've RMA'd keycaps back to Keychron because of this.) THESE keycaps are great, both feel and sound. That said, if you like KSA profile keycaps but aren't happy with the colour choices. I'm attaching a picture of my board with the accents swapped to blue. Lastly, these boards aren't offered in a wired-only version. If this bothers you and you don't want to burn the extra power on an LED battery indicator, or maybe you just don't want to have a battery embedded in your keyboard, you can unplug the battery and take it out. Just beware - the connector looks delicate, so you'll want to exercise caution, and the battery itself is stuck down with some fairly vigorous adhesive. The keyboard operates like any other normal wired board once the battery's been popped out. Store it somewhere safe if you don't recycle it! All told, I'm in love with the feel and the sound of this board, never mind its many advanced features.
