Keychron S1 Aluminum 75% Hotswap RGB Low Profile Win + Mac Mechanical Keyboard

My workplace recently went hybrid and issued everybody laptops. I'm in marcomm so got a Mac, and decided it was time to look for a Mac-friendly mech keyboard to replace the old Leopold that I've had for the past 10 years. Was stunned to discover how mech keyboards have exploded in popularity and very pleasantly surprised to find this heavy, aluminum low-profile (read, carpal-tunnel friendly) option at a reasonable price. Synced up perfectly the moment I connected it, included extras keycaps for the command keys and Mac-specific legends on the F1-F12. It even let me remap a couple keys using VIA to accommodate my own peculiarities. I tested out the Gateron banana switches, but ultimately went with the old-school clicky blues. The board is heavy and stable enough that the click doesn't echo and even if I had an office mate, I don't think the noise would be irritating -- and they feel great, crisp and responsive, perfect for typing. (Just wish there was a bit more compatibility between low-profile switches; Kailh's are probably my favorites.) Bonus: my kids love playing with the RGB LEDs. Keys aren't shine-through, so it's mostly just decoration, but you can dim them down or turn them off if they annoy you, so win-win. Bottom line, I'm really enjoying this board, and it feels like it's built to last.

I feel very good typing on the blue switches. I like low profile keyboards because I worked directly on the MacBook Pro keyboard for a long time and it is so incredibly nice to have this as an option.
