MK Duo 60% XT Keyboard w/ MK Dose Dual Contact Mechanical Switches

I became interested in this keyboard due to the dual activation switches. I actually showed up at the MK storefront at the Tennessee location since I happened to be in the area. My initial purchase was due to the feel and compact nature of the keyboard and my curiosity of the dual activation. I have since spent 3 months using this keyboard constantly.

I am a touch typist and loved the action of this keyboard. As time went on, I fell in love with the default placement of the cursor locations keys (arrow, Page Up, etc). As a touch typist I can easily locate my right hand on the bottom row to position it for cursor movement without looking. IMHO the addition of the 4 leftmost keys as movement keys was a brilliant idea as I spend a lot of time moving through Word and Excel creating docs and making corrections to docs. I would rate the key placement an A+ because this has become my favorite keyboard out of the 8 I currently own.

As a touch typist I experimented with the "Speed" and "Typist" actuation points and I actually prefer the Speed mode as the key actuates at the first actuation point of the switch.

The DUO software is excellent and easy to use. Beside being able to set the backlighting to any RGB combination, I really like the ability to individually set each key to an individual color. I typically will set my whole keyboard to a particular color, and then set individual keys that relate to each other (via the Fn key) to another color so that I can quickly glance at the keyboard and identify clusters of related keys (ie movement keys).

I believe that this keyboard has a lot of value for the price

I will be up front and tell you that I did not purchase this keyboard. I won it at PDXLAN this past weekend. I am normally not a fan of a 60% but OMG this thing feels sooooooo nice. I have been using it mainly for work I'm a devops eng that spends A LOT of time writing ansible and terraform. This thing has been a dream to use. So much in fact that I have been moving it to each of my areas. Works on my Macbook, my Arch Linux system, and of course windows. I have replaced my trusted steelseries Apex Pro with it and based on feel alone its a massive improvement. I'll likely be buying another one just for my gaming desk.
