Tex Shura 65% Hotswap DIY Keyboard Kit

Only my second keyboard kit. Super impressed with the quality of the board, and all the parts of the kit. I know it's Made in Taiwan, but could pass for Made in Japan, the quality is that good, down to the screws/hardware.

I enjoyed building the keyboard. I did have a slight struggle with the bottom row and/or the mouse key switch locations and keycap placement, but was easily remedied by some online research.

The end result is a very high quality keyboard that I will enjoy for a long time to come, highly recommended!

I have been ignoring mechanical keyboards for a while, even though I use keyboards for living. It was partly because most mechanical keyboards lack track point; I am a big fan of it since I can navigate my cursor without moving my hand away from the keys.

So, keyboards from Tex was a natural choice for me. I don't think there is an alternative out there. I actually got hooked by the tactile feedback mechanical switches offer (I am using a silent switch) after using one. I wonder why I didn't try this sooner...

The build quality is great, IMHO. Even though it is made of plastic, it feels very solid. I don't have much experience with PBT key caps, but the key caps that come with this product seem great in quality. The 65% needs some getting used to, especially with back quote (`) and tilde (~). The great thing about the DIY package is that you can (a) try different key layouts and pick one that you like; and (b) try different mechanical switches.

I am very satisfied with my purchase. I already bought 2 (one for home and the other for the office), and the price mechanical keyboards offer is great. I wish mechanical keyboards offered other accessories, like the aluminum case. Thank you!!!

I love this keyboard, the little mouse in the center is super handy to reposition my cursor without taking my hands off the keyboard. I also got switches with it (MK holy Llama) and those are smooth. Kudos to the guy who answered the phone to recommend them.
