Varmilo Minilo VXT67 Mendozae 65% Hotswap Triple Mode Bluetooth + Wireless 2.4 GHz RGB Mechanical Keyboard

I love this keyboard, and highly recommend! I have the Bluetooth version with Gateron yellow switches and use it daily for work, as well as recreational use. Five months in, and I have had no issues. She is gorgeous and of good quality-I am very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to others.

I ordered this keyboard back in December from Varmilo. I have the wired version, white led backlight, Cherry Brown switches, and never experienced any mechanical problems, even though I use this keyboard daily for work. I've found that it needs to be cleaned quite often, as any cat hair or stray dust is visible on the white. The material is quite soft, and the keyboard itself is easy to disassemble for cleaning. It's definitely not the cheapest, but I count it as a great purchase.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this keyboard, or Varmilo as a brand. I received a defective product whose internal connection to the battery came loose and resulted in a bricked keyboard (unusable even when plugged in directly to power) in just three months of baby-gentle use. And I was responsible for the $15 charge to pack it up and ship it back to MK for repair (thankfully I had kept all product boxing/casing but the exterior most shipping box safely tucked away so still had to shell out $5 for it to be packed by UPS). I can only surmise that the keyboard's assembly was defective or it had been dropped/otherwise damaged in its initial transit to me. But either way, I now have a keyboard whose craftsmanship I distrust and whose other interior parts I am warily waiting to break prematurely just like the battery connection. I was initially very excited about this keyboard. I treated it better than many people treat their newborns. It never left my desk, remained charged, all food and drink was kept far, far away, and kept covered with the dust cover whenever I was not at my computer. But despite my helicopter-parenting style, after about a month (and, because it always works that way, just after the 30 return period expired) it began to randomly shut off. It would turn back on after a second or two, so I assumed it was a computer glitch unrelated to the keyboard--my computer's USB disconnecting and reconnecting or some such. Because the keyboard was so new, and I knew it had not experienced any stress since it had been in my possession, I never considered it being the board itself. It was practically just out of the womb. But finally, one day after restarting my computer, it just never powered back on. That was it. Kaput. Dead as a door nail. I had been using it less than 30 seconds ago, and suddenly it had become an expensive (although, admittedly attractive) keyboard-shaped paperweight. I would not recommend this board if you are not comfortable opening it up on your own (which means voiding any manufacturer warranty or no-additional-fee repair by MK). I could not recommend Varmilo after this experience. Perhaps I was the exception, but unfortunately no exception could be made about returning it (in its near mint condition) to be able to purchase a brand I am more comfortable with. While gorgeous (and a joy to type on with the Gateron Reds; I highly recommend those), the disappointment of the board abruptly dying on you is not worth it. I appreciate MK's timely repair but am disappointed I had to pay for a defect I had no part in creating and have to pay for other defects in the near future. And further beware, all of the documentation is in Chinese so if you are unable to read in it, you will have to spend a few hours trying to piece together Reddit posts and poorly translated manuals for different Varmilo models to find basic guidance, key combinations, settings, etc. on your Minilo. Definitely not a keyboard for a first-time mechanical keyboard purchaser. IMO, save yourself some heartache. I know she's beautiful, but--like your parents always told you--it's what's on the inside that counts.
