  • Solid keyboard.
    High quality keycaps and frame.
    Simple and minimal layout.
Although I'd like them to provide a Super keycap in alternative to the Window key, had to use the CapLk key for that.

  • Pros:
This is my first mechanical keyboard that I have bought. I came to this keyboard via many online reviews. The build quality is astonishing solid. As soon as you pull the keyboard out the box you can feel the heft and girth of it. The keycaps are some of the best keycaps you can get. They even rival $100 keycaps from GMK. They are PBT doubleshot so they wont wear down or get shiny like ABS. But do be cautious when using the keycap puller included in the box. It WILL scuff your keycaps and there will be a visible grey mark that you cannot get off.

Some problems are the stabs are rattly especially on the left shift button due to there being no factory lube. So just get some dielectric grease and insert it into the stabilizers with a syringe or another method and the stabilizers will turn out amazing. Spacebar has a touch of rattle due the spacebar keycap having a very very slight bend around 0.1mm of deviation so not really a problem.

Despite the box and description this keyboard actually has 6-key rollover not N-key rollover via USB type A. It simply states it has "support". I think this keyboard has support for N-key rollover via ps/2 but I think this is quite misleading as no one in this day and age has a ps/2 port as it was invented 34 years ago.

This keyboard has a 1000hz polling rate but it has a Mini-USB port instead of USB-C which is a bummer as Mini-USB is much fragiler than Micro-USB and USB-C.

Also the layout is non standard as the windows key is 1u and the two shifts are the same exact size.

    Conclusion:
Overall this board is very good but due to some complications, I cant give it the 5 it deserves. A better alternative would be the Varmilo Miya Pro, as it has no rattle, USB-C, standard layout, N-key rollover via USB type A and no rattle due to perfect factory lubing. Although the keycaps won't be as nice of a quality as this.

  • This board is my first upgrade to a real, solid mechanical keyboard. I was using a secondhand Corsair before, 100% with Cherry MX Browns.
I got this one with Browns too, and it is truly amazing. The build quality is wonderful. The board has a heft that feels lovely, and it's really sturdy. The keycaps are a quality I've never experienced. The experience of using the board is better than I could have imagined. Now I just want to sit at my desk all day typing. It's got me looking forward to work!

the only caveat is this - my previous keyboard was really clacky, but this one has a bit of noise reduction, so while there is still a very satisfying typing sound, it is not as loud. If you want something super loud, this may not be for you. That said, the feel of this board is perfect IMO.

Thank you Leopold for a great board and thank you MK for wonderful customer service!

  • best vintage keyboard ever

  • Probably the best stock board you can buy. The attention to detail is amazing, with even the space bar having its own individual foam dampener. The PBT keys have a smooth feel and, in the aftermarket, are probably worth the price of the board alone.

As other reviewers have mentioned, however, it is a little less off-white than the photos make it appear. It is still not a bright white color by any means, but is more of a subdued gray tone than yellow. I suggest looking up review videos if you want a better understanding of the color.

  • As a mech board, it's fine. Just as good as id expect. Unfortunately, it appears a bit more yellow in the pictures than in real life. I really wish it were a touch more off-white than it is.

  • Moved from a full-size WASD Code (clears) board to this deck. Im beyond enthused over the improvements - you just can't beat Cherry Browns! The high-quality keycaps combined with the Browns make for a lovely typing experience, to the point that Im transporting this board back and forth from work just so that I can use it at home! I can't say enough about the keycaps - they are the perfect replica of late-90's beige that came with every Dell computer. Its retro without nerding out about it, just perfectly executed. Bottom line is that this form factor is a perfect fit for my needs and I wake up looking forward to typing on this deck each day.

If this deck were programmable it would be 5 stars, perfect for purpose in every way. I've been able to work around the missing keys with 1. getting used to the function button and 2. Karabiner for Mac. I've got Ins and Delete remapped to volume up/down which works perfectly. Now I just need corresponding caps!

  • Definitely a solid keyboard, but I expect nothing less from Leopold. Keys have a matte feel, and the cherry mx pink switch is really nice to type on. It does sound a bit like my topre board, but is way less harsh at the bottom out. These are pillowy, and integral to not waking my girlfriend up when I'm working those late nights! MK also great company to deal with, great customer service. 5 stars.
