Yes, there is an obvious quality discrepancy between the "cheap" $30.00 keyboard you find at a big-box-store, and the $100.00 keyboard from a niche name brand.
This keyboard is obviously heavier, sturdier, and of noticeably better quality than all of my previously owned "cheap" keyboards.
Originally, I thought I'd actually like having cherry-black switches. However, I tried them out, and the harder key-press was too noticeable. I returned that keyboard, and got the cherry-red switches. Definitely prefer the reds over the blacks.
I also am of the opinion that linear switches are less "annoying" than tactile switches. Linear switches already "clickety-clack" enough from bottoming out. Which, on this nice of a keyboard, is very enjoyable to hear. However, if they were bottoming out AND you could hear the switch clicking in-and-out every single keystroke, I feel like that would just be too much.
An absolute dream. I'm ordering a second one with silent caps to work at night at home. Fits perfectly on top of the Dell XPS 13 keyboard. The rubber legs align perfectly on the edge of the laptop. What a dream! I use this when traveling and I may get a 3rd one. One wish is that they made a short 2" usb to go to usb-C at 90 degree angles so the keyboard can be pushed up closer to the screen. I had to solder a custom cable myself. I wish it was an option I could buy.
I have had this keyboard for over a year now and it has been an absolutely amazing experience with this keyboard. The main reason that I bought this keyboard was due to the fact that I wanted a silent keyboard that was in a reasonable price range. This keyboard checked all those boxes for me. I am now moving on to a custom keyboard that I will be building, but this is as good as it gets in terms of a silent pre-built keyboard.
Pros:
-excellent build quality
-clean design and minimalistic look
-durable keycaps
-has arrow keys
-compact design
Cons:
-uses mini usb cable
-no software (that I know of so don't quote me on that)
I guess I can't return by now.
I just got this keyboard. I was really excited. However, after a month, I tried to take it apart. It did not work. I wanted to return it since the purpose of me buying this was to take it apart, and now that doesn't work. I hope I get full refunds.
The keyboard is good, feels really good, but I wish I have gotten a varmilo Miya pro since this one wouldn't get taken apart.
My keyboard is a Leopold fc660m, black, and in red switches!
Bought with MX Black switches, and I fell in love. Space bar stabs are a little rattly, but other than that this thing is perfect. Would've preferred USB-C, although not a dealbreaker for me
10/10
Upgraded from a logitech g810 and this is 10 times better, the stabilizers are silent and all of the keys feel amazing with the cherry mx reds. Delivered fast and was packed well.
I normally don't write reviews for products. Ever. But this one is an exception. For this price range, you won't get anything better. Case doesn't have flex, good amount of weight, little kick stands are sturdy, the key caps feel premium, and the overall build quality exceeded my expectations.
Wow!
I got the blue switches. Insanely good while typing!
Feels like I am typing in my dream. Hahaha!
Buy it! Get the blue switches if you're gonna be typing. Trust me, you won't regret it. Cheers!
Good sturdy keyboard, respectable weight, no body flex. Stabilizers come lubbed and there is no rattle of any of the keys, even when you shake the board. Well designed layout especially like how the fn keys are arranged, very little learning needed to use them. Silent red switches are some of the quietest switches I have used. Even more so with the extra sound dampening pad in this keyboard. Keycaps feel good and have a slight texture to them. Only thing I wish is that they had some media functions for volume control.
This is a fantastic keyboard for the price. My partner really likes my HHKB but she prefers dedicated arrow keys, so I figured I would get a 65% with Cherry MX Browns to try out. I knew Leopold made nice boards but hadn't personally used one before, and I'm very impressed with the build quality and typing experience. Highly recommended.
Bought this newer FC660M in silent reds to replace older model in non-silent reds. The new double-shot PBT keycaps are really nice. I had two previous FC660M's one with blank and one with printed keycaps. The printed caps were really poor quality and it's good to see them improve. I still swapped the blanks to this new board. Sitting side by side with a FC660C, personally I think they feel somewhat similar, although I actually prefer the silent MX switches. I wish Leopold would make anodized aluminum cases, my only complaint is that the plastic case on my older boards have started to show glossiness where it borders the space bar.
By far the best keyboard I've ever had. The key presses have the perfect amount of pressure and just enough sound on a key press. Also the feel of the keys has a slight texture that helps when typing for many hours. The look of the keyboard is also rad - very sturdy. I plan to get another one for work :)
Impressive build quality. No creaks or rattles. New doubleshot keycaps are great, as are the retooled cherry blacks.
