Glad I'm not the only one with keychatter problems! Incredibly disappointed; there is clearly a quality-control issue happening in an otherwise very high-quality-feeling keyboard.
Beware! This was a really great keyboard until it started developing keychatter issues (when severaaaal keysstrokes appeaar aaat once). It took just long enough that it's no longer covered by anyone's warranty. I'm almost certain it's a manufacturing quality issue with the PCB, so it's not particularly easy to fix on your own. I bought it about 14 months ago. I'm going to say 2/5 stars here because if you're lucky enough to get a good one, it's a great keyboard-- love the layout, size, and super sturdy case. Just wish it could actually do the most important part of a keyboard's job.
Works great. No issues 2-3 months in. Very heavy, sturdy, and the keycaps are great.
Keyboard arrived 10 days after placing the order (shipping to Canada). Arrived in perfect condition, no shipping damage or marks on anything. Inside the shipping box, the Varmilo packaging was sleek and professional, with an intact factory seal. Everything inside was packed securely with plenty of padding. The keyboard is quite heavy, it has a very nice weight to it. The metal frame has a clean matte finish and the seams are smooth, no sharp or rough edges anywhere. Unlike the display images on the website, there is no Comic Sans logo on the case (thank you) and the page up button does not have an integrated LED window, just the caps lock key. I prefer this, as it gives a more uniform look to the board. The keycaps themselves have a very nice finish, matte but so fine that they are almost smooth. Very satisfying feel to the keypress, nice tactility and not too loud when bottomed out. The only thing I would point out to someone considering this board is that the backlight shines AROUND the keys but not THROUGH them (at all). Combined with the lack of contrast between a black legend on a dark grey key, this means that in a dark or dim room you cannot see the legends at all, even with the backlight at maximum brightness. This lack of contrast is especially evident when you compare to the alternate legends on the sides of the keys such as F1-F12, which are in white and really jump out at you from the dark grey. This doesn't bother me, but it may be worth considering if you plan to use this board in a dark or low-light environment. Overall, I am completely satisfied with this keyboard.
This was a great keyboard for a few months. It started developing serious key chatter after just light usage in four months. Now I found out that MechanicalKeyboards offers no warranty on this, Varmilo doesn't offer any warranty on gateron boards (WHAT??) and they refuse to help. Now I have a $160 paperweight that I'm trying to get warranty help through my credit card for.
Stay far away from these.
