This is a keyboard I will never retire from using. The photos on the website don't portray it as well as when viewing it in person. Very sturdy, crisp keystroke sounds, decent packaging. The provided keycap puller is not the best in my opinion, as it is too wide to pull keys with ease. The keycap puller that came with the Filco I previously bought is of a much better design, with two metal wire loops instead of a plastic bracket. Lots of fancy lighting options, more than I'll ever need. The right shift key, if you press it on the rightmost side feels sticky, but when you press it on the center it feels normal. If Filco was backlit and had dedicated media keys, I'd purchase the Filco. But for the price you're paying and the features included, this is hands down an amazing keyboard. It literally makes you want to be productive from hearing all the delicious clicks and clacks.
So, I've never really spent any money on a keyboard. I always just picked up a Logitech "whatever" from Best Buy. I decided to do some research into mechanical keyboards and after browsing Reddit and looking at all the options I settled on this model. It feels well built and the keys work great. I only use the simple backlight option, but the fancy stuff is cool. I love the double-shot keys that won't wear off. I love this keyboard, it is a joy to type on.
This keyboard is EVERYthing I was looking for in a keyboard. Simplicity was the first thing, all the features are already in the keyboard with no clunky software to install. The lighting is gorgeously clean and refined, with many levels of brightness. To top it all off, this keyboard has macro keys with 6 different settings. It is perfect for me!! I've been using this daily for 6 months now, the keys have become more responsive with more use. Blue switches are tactile and a pleasure to type on. For the price, this is a superb quality product. If you're looking for a simple keyboard, this is it.
I ordered the Ducky One w/ MX Blues as my first mechanical keyboard about six months ago. Having owned and used many other mechanical keyboards since then, I can attest to the fact that the Ducky One is one of the best built keyboards out there. The thin bezel and overall minimalist design also makes it the most attractive keyboard in my growing collection.
It's hard to overstate how solid this board is all-around. For example, the stock doubleshot ABS keycaps on the Ducky One are easily the best stock keycaps that I've encountered. The caps are fairly thick and satisfying to type on, and the top-oriented legends are fully illuminated by the backlighting (something that is surprisingly rare for backlit keycaps). Another minor detail that makes a huge difference are the key stabilizers on the larger keys. Though Cherry MX stabilizers have a reputation for being "mushy", the MX stabilizers on the Ducky One are consistent with the non-stabilized keys and feel great.
I only have a couple of very minor complaints. The most noticeable issue is that unless you're sitting fully upright and close to the board, the indicator LEDs for Caps Lock, Scroll Lock, etc. are often hidden from view behind the top row of the numpad keycaps. When I first received the board I was also confused by the Caps Lock keycap, as it has a small circular lens/window for a separate in-key Caps Lock indicator, but there is no LED installed underneath it. Not a big deal once I realized it wasn't a manufacturing error.
I own the version of this board with blue LEDs, but my brother recently purchased the white LED version. Though the blue LEDs certainly don't look bad, I much prefer the cleaner and brighter look of the white LEDs. Regardless, you absolutely can't go wrong with the Ducky One.
This site and the ducky website should take better pictures of this product. I took the chance and bought this model for my girlfriend. Wow, what a great keyboard. A quality, sturdy design, feels rock solid. The lighting is perfect. I will order another for me. Highly recommended!!! Mechanical keyboard dot com also great, fast processing and delivery. Many thanks
